Studio Policies

NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES!!!!
Only water bottles may be brought in and we have a cooled water fountain. Eat before you come to the studio or wait until you go home. No sippie cups or snacks for toddlers. Please take them outside to eat or drink anything. Thank you!
ATTENDANCE: Students must not miss classes unnecessarily. Use the same method of return as public schools after an illness. If a student feels bad (and has nothing contagious) or is injured, we suggest that they observe. Perfect Attendance Certificates for students that have missed no classes for the whole year and have not been habitually late will be presented and drawings for scholarships will be held after dress rehearsal for the Annual Performance. Trophies or gifts are presented at that time to those taking 5 or more years with us.
DANCE WEAR: Students must wear required dancewear and shoes. A leotard and tights are required. This is not a gymnasium or sports field. Do not wear shirts over leotards or a leotard that is blouson as to cover the shape of the spine and torso. Do not wear pants that hide the placement of the hip or shape of the leg. There are plenty of dance shorts and warmers that can be chosen from. Students that are not properly attired for class will not be permitted to participate.
HAIR: Hair must be secured out of the face for class and not have to be constantly re- fixed. Acrobatic students wear low ponytails or pigtails.  Ballet buns for ballet.
AFTER-CLASS CHILD PICK-UP: Parents are responsible for children being picked up on time. We cannot be responsible for students leaving the studio because there will be multiple students leaving at a time and we have no idea who they are to leave with. If you are more than a few minutes late picking up your child after the last class of the evening, you will be charged a babysitting fee - $15 per 15 minutes, to cover the teacher's time that is having to stay with them until they are picked up.
CLASS OBSERVATION: For our parents' convenience, you may observe from the waiting room at any time. We have viewing windows with tinting to help keep students from being distracted. Please do not ask to come in, press against the window or open the door during class as it disrupts class - talk to your child's teacher or your child after the class is over.
CLASS SCHEDULING AND CANCELLATION: If a class does not have the minimum students required, it will be cancelled and students will be relocated in another existing class. If we decide that a class is too large for optimum learning, we will either add a teacher or split the class up, depending on the needs of that individual group.
TYPES OF DANCE YOU TAKE: We offer combination classes to younger students for convenience and to expose them to the basic dance forms, giving them a good basic dance education. Older students' classes are offered separately, with no required classes. It is suggested, however, that all dancers have ballet training, since it teaches the basics for all dance movement, technique and body placement. If you are truly interested in being a skilled dancer, you should be trained in many of the disciplines.
